MUFE Matte Velvet Powder Foundation

So, I've been an avid user of Makeup Forever Products in my professional kit for over 10 years. I've seen them evolve their products from mostly PRO to now catering to consumers as well. As a Pro they have always been my go-to brand, now as a consumer i love them even more.

The HD line has become probably one of the most flawless and versatile products on the market, for both pro and consumer. I have always been very picky about powder foundations. My favorite and GO-TO for my powder foundation was Tarte's Confidence creamy powder foundation, but it was discontinued. I love Tarte products; however, they always seem to fall a little short when relaunching something to replace what was discontinued. When they came out with Face Tape Powder foundation, it was NOTHING like the Double Duty Beauty Confidence Cream Powder. I was so disappointed because I REALLY wanted to like it. I love the Amazonian clay products, but unfortunately, I was let down. Which lead me to go back to my Makeup Forever Pro-Finish Powder Foundation (that you could use wet or dry :D).

So, when I was browsing at the Makeup Forever store a few months ago, trying to get my Pro Finish powder replaced, the artist told me they were out of my color because they were discontinuing it! I was pretty devastated until she said they are coming out with a new powder called MATTE VELVET SKIN BLURRING POWDER FOUNDATION that was even better. She said it would be replacing the DUO MAT & the Pro-Finish combined and was set to release in March.

Long story short, the release was delayed until May. When I seen that it was new on the website, I decided to hit up the MUFE store and check it out. I usually like to be left be and just have the artists grab a color for me when I choose one, but at MUFE, they really know their sh** so I really love getting info from them and take their suggestions. Now let me just say I was almost prepared for disappointment, mostly because I just didn’t want to love the idea of it, then be let down. The artist used a Kabuki brush and when she was done I was floored. You would swear I didn’t have anything on because the color match was so spot on and the coverage was so lightweight but evened me out so well. I was extremely impressed. I loved everything about it, from the shades, to the construction of the packaging and the fact that it comes with a double sided sponge with a velvet side for a more blurred sheer coverage (my preferred method)

I picked up some HD corrector concealer that is new to me (I normally use Tarte’s rainforest of the sea aqua concealer) and I was also really happy with that, (way better than shape tape IMO.. SHOCKER, I know). Also as someone that has pretty much every brand of liquid lipstick, MUFE’s is the most superior formula I’ve ever tried, it’s not drying on the lips nor does it transfer at all. I chose shade 403 (a gorgeous deep blue red), 405 (deep brick red), and 304 (coral). I pair all of them with the Artist Color Pencils. (super creamy but long wearing!) The only complaint I have, is I wish they had more nude shades, the ones they have do not have many middle-grade colors and make very big jumps in shade. The one I had purchased originally, 109 dried very grey ish, not at all what I expected.

Anyway, another thing I loved about the Matte Velvet Powder Foundation, is that its magnetic so you can pop the shade out and put it into a magnetic case to use for your Pro kit! (Definitely plan on making that purchase soon for my entire kit)

So, the verdict is…. I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THESE PRODUCTS!!! Especially for those with combo/oily skin.

If you have dry skin, I’d just make sure to hydrate the skin with a moisturizer and a hydrating primer.

If you want to get some pro insight on other products, leave a comment!

Under a Minute

So...

You all know my stance on the YouTube Makeup tutorial world. It's really not my thing. Not to mention, makeup lessons is a service I provide, so tutorials kind of defeat the purpose lol

But recently, I had a few people on my Facebook timeline struggling with certain parts of their makeup routine. I love to help out everyone, but it's kind of hard to tell someone how to do something, when it really should be shown. So there I was, looking for a decent tutorial on winged liner. It seemed like every single one had the same kind of music, or sooooo much talking, and their methods were just too complicated.

So I decided I wanted to record my own quick and simple tutorial that did not require 5-10 minutes of unnecessary talking and basic music.

That's when i created "UNDER A MINUTE"

Tutorials for those that just want to get straight to the point.

My Favorite 5

Greetings Earthlings!!

This entry will explain my 5 personal favorite items in my personal kit, that I use daily, and obvious must haves. I will also have another one for HAIR so stay tuned :)

1. Anastasia Dip Brow(consumer) brow palette (for artists)

Beauty wise, these are must haves for any artist or anyone that just wants bangin' brows!! The consistency and color choices are so versatile. Warm, Neutral, and Taupe colors all included in their selection. Not to mention they are extremely affordable! $18 for Dip Brow and will last you forever!!!

2. Makeup Forever HD Pressed Powder.

This Micro fine setting powder is one of my HOLY GRAILS. The loose powder is also nice, but i prefer a quicker access product with less chance of spillage (yes it has definitely happened lol) Feels like suede on your face lol

3. MAC Liquid last liner in Pointe Black

So my typical makeup look is a cat eye winged liner, arched brows and a precise lip. Reminiscent of modern day 1940's. You name a liquid liner, I have tried it... This one in particular is just AMAZING!! Its water proof But beware, once its on, its ON. I have small oily lids and there is NO creasing!

4. Limecrime Velvetine Liquid to Matte Lipsticks

ALL MATTE EVERYTHING!! From my nails to my lips, I have to have matte. These velvetines come beautifully packaged in what looks like a lipgloss tube and are applied like one.. they dry in about 30 seconds and once its on, it ON! I have eaten taco bell with my velvetines on and didn't even have to reapply!! That makes me happy lol

LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST

5. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

See i'm not much of a contour my face kinda person, so this right here is perfect for me. I have a lighter yellowy-beige complexion and this bronzer really warms me up but also gives me some soft shape. Not to mention it smells (and tastes lol don't judge me) like chocolate! There is also a lighter one for fair complexions called Milk chocolate soleil.

Thanks for reading my first entry!! I welcome questions, and comments!! Stay tuned for my Favorite 5 Hair edition!!
